  • Analog Gateway:

The analog gateway connects the traditional analog telephone to a VoIP phone system or a VoIP phone system to a PSTN. Therefore to perform both of the actions, there are 2 forms of analog gateway: FXS and FXO.

The FXS gateway connects the traditional telephone and fax machine to a VoIP phone system. While the FXO gateway connects the VoIP phone system to the PSTN line.

 

  • Digital Gateway:

The digital gateway connects the VoIP phone system to digital voice lines. This gateway also helps to connect the traditional PBX system to an IP network.
